Why are so many companies rushing to list before the end of September

A crowd is forming at the exit gate. SEBI extended the validity of IPO approvals that were expiring between April and September this year, giving companies breathing room during volatile markets and West Asia tensions. That grace period ends on 30 September, so 34 firms are now racing to raise about Rs 45,000 crore.

The rush tells you something. These companies are not listing because business is booming. They are listing because paperwork expires and refiling costs time and money. So supply will be heavy in a short window, and quality across the batch will vary widely.

Read each offer on its own merits. Check how much money goes into the business rather than to selling shareholders, compare valuation with listed peers, and look at three year profit trends. Listing gains have been thin lately, so apply only where you would happily hold for years.
