If you are referring to the contents of a mutual fund holdings in stocks and bonds, you can check out the AMCs website. A sample:
- Performance: Look for net returns, XIRR (or annualised gain).
- Taxes: Avoid dividend schemes and exiting before 1 year in equity funds to avoid short term capital gains
- Exit loads: Try to avoid exiting before the load period; however if the fund is not doing well then you may exit earlier
- Risk: Check for volatility, concentration in an AMC and high exposure to under performing stocks.
