Do you think consolidating all plans into one is better or leaving it as it is better in mutual funds?

You must have a portfolio that is well diverseified across fund houses (or companies) and asset classes (e.g.: equity large cap, equity multi cap, deb etc). Given this, it is better to have a few funds, preferably a number that you can count on hand (or max two if your assets are large).
