Is SBI blue chip mutual fund capital tax free?

If you make gains in any mutual fund or stock, then you are liable to pay capital gains tax.

For investments over 1 year, these are considered Long Term Capital Gains. However if your gains are below one lakh, then you are indeed ‘capital tax free’.

If you sell before one year, then any gains you make come under Short Term Capital Gains.
