My best SIP investments started more than 10 years ago in some of the large cap funds.
As i learnt more about investing, i used the following tactics:
- increase the folio with lumpusm investments and
- switch in from liquid funds that i had parked whenever i felt that the market had corrected by say 5%
- When direct plans were launched in 2013, i switched all my regular plans to direct. This alone added about 10%–15% extra gain on these funds. Now that i help people invest in direct plans, we made switching to direct very easy for all.
To name a few, they are Aditya Birla Equity Fund, DSP Black Rock Equity Fund. Since they got the time to compound over time, the returns have been close to 20% CAGR.
