How do I invest INR 45k in the market for 10 years?

If you invest 45k over 10 years, you could end up with 1.8 crores assuming a growth of 15%. However if you invest through a distributor or a broker who takes 1% hidden commission, you might end up with 20 lakhs lesser, i.e. 1.6 crores.

What to do?

  1. Go for direct plan mutual funds in equity fund class.
  2. Invest in a mix of 2–3 sub classes based on your risk appetite
  3. If already invested, then switching to direct is really easy.
