A closer look at the numbers highlights some trade-offs: GST-led revenue loss could be around 0.4% of GDP, mostly affecting state budgets. The reforms might also ease inflation by about 50-60 basis points over the next year. There is also hope that GST rate cuts will prompt the RBI to consider further reductions in interest rates.
