Do not take a knee jerk reactions when a fund under performs. The worst thing to do is to sell in panic. The only time you should exit a fund is when:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. You wish to re balance your portfolio, i.e. move the fund into a different fund based on your asset allocation.
    1. Eg, you need to reduce equity funds as you have already crossed a 60% allocation based on your risk profile.<\/li><\/ol><\/li>
    2. You need the money for a goal that is due.<\/li>
    3. The fund has underperformed vs the market for a long period of time.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Be aware that exit loads and taxes may reduce your gain. It is advised to track the fund for some more time and if possible take the help of a SEBI Regd Advisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
