The best mutual funds list will not suddenly change as soon as the market is down. However a quarterly review will easily point out the funds that had a lesser ‘drawdown’ compared to the market and peers.
The best funds slug it out during bad times and ensure that they have a less volatile ‘sequence of returns’ which means that they tend to outperform over a long term of say 10 years. One example of such a large cap fund is Quantum Long Term Equity Fund.
