Is an online operation in a mutual fund safe?

Yes, it is safe for the following reasons:

1. A good online app does not touch (or pool) your money. The funds transfer via net banking is directly to the Mutal Fund company, from your bank account. When you redeem, money reaches your bank account directly.
2. The mutual fund units/holdings are also safe as they are maintained electronically by the Custodian and Registrar & Transfer Agency. They work for Mutual Fund company and not for the online operator.
3. Good websites and apps come with security features such as encryption, two factor authentication for key transactions, secure PIN etc.
